3rd place for the Katschberg by the international ski area test

Behind Ischgl and Saalbach mountain railways, the Katschberg took the excellent 3rd place at the renowned ski area test, the international comparison of ski resorts.

Alpine skiing at the Katschberg in Austria

Super maintained slopes of all difficulties from exercise piste with the plate lift up to the dark-black slope of “Direttissima” – for everyone an unique experience. Whether skier or carver, you will surely find your favorite slope. We are particularly proud of our wide pistes.

There are rarely skiing areas, with an offer for families and also for experts. Even expert skiers find perfect conditions at Katschberg. The top slopes for “professionals” are due to their length not to be overlooked on the trail map.

With a gradient of 100% the black Direttissima (11a) is the most demanding downhill in the ski area. You can ski down 2.5 kilometers of difficult slopes from Aineck (2220m) to the valley (1641m). Especially recommended is also the extremely wide, black run Nr. 3 from Tschaneck (2030m).

The red marked, 6 kilometer long run (A1) from the Aineck to St. Margarethen (1066m) is also absolutely recommended. The black runs “Nordabfahrt” (21), “Wildparkabfahrt” (23) and “Karabfahrt” (28a), above St. Margarethen, complement the range of black runs. In addition, there are beside the “Schwaigalmabfahrt” (22), a permanent circuit for all “Stangerlfahrer”. So all in all well-deserved 4.5 stars for “professionals”.
